mission

Education that empowers. Values that sustain. Perspectives that open doors.

Physics lesson

The European Gymnasium understands education as a holistic process. Our goal is not only to provide young people with an excellent academic education, but also to strengthen their personalities and prepare them for a self-determined life in a changing world.

We combine sound knowledge with humanistic values, linguistic competence with international thinking, and digital education with responsible action. In doing so, we create a space where curiosity can grow, talents can be discovered, and individual gifts can be developed.

As a school community, we live by respect , openness , and mutual appreciation . We promote independent thinking, critical reflection, and the willingness to take responsibility for oneself and society.

Our mission is to empower young people,

  • to confidently go their own way

  • To constructively overcome challenges,

  • Experiencing diversity as an enrichment and

  • to actively participate in shaping the future.

Because education doesn't end with the high school diploma; it lays the foundation for a life full of opportunities.

Digital Education – High School | Computer Science

Digital competence as a key qualification.

The school's autonomous focus on computer science at the Gymnasium (academic high school) provides a solid foundation in information and communication technologies. The aim is to prepare students competently, thoughtfully, and responsibly for an increasingly digital world.

In addition to technical understanding, analytical thinking, problem-solving skills, and confident use of digital media are fostered. This creates the digital literacy that is indispensable today in studies, work, and society.

European Class – English as a working language (EAA)

For over 20 years, the European Class has represented a successfully established educational model at the European Gymnasium. Within the EAA focus area – English as a working language – English is used as the language of instruction in almost all subjects (except mathematics, German, and religion).

These classes – known internally as "OWLS" – are run as full-fledged secondary school classes up to the Matura (Austrian school-leaving exam). The regular use of native English teachers strengthens language skills, expressiveness, and intercultural understanding in a lasting way.

The result: a high level of linguistic proficiency and the best prerequisites for international education and career paths.

Classical Gymnasium – Education with a humanistic foundation

Holistic general education with a broad perspective.

The classical branch of the European Gymnasium combines a broad general education with a clear commitment to humanistic values. A diverse range of languages, cultural and historical subjects, and natural sciences forms the basis.

Sporting, musical and creative subjects complement the educational offerings and support a balanced personality development.

Early specialization is deliberately avoided. Instead, interests and talents are awakened and fostered in diverse directions – individually and sustainably.

Other offers

More than just lessons.
More possibilities!

The Europagymnasium views school as a living space. Therefore, a wide range of activities complements the lessons and creates space for creativity, physical activity, personal development, and individual support.

Whether in the art gallery, on stage in English drama, in sporting activities or in the school library, talents are allowed to flourish.

With day care, educational counselling, career guidance and mediation, we competently accompany students throughout their school years and support them in important decision-making phases.

Supplementary club courses, the "students helping students" initiative, and a transparent timetable provide structure, support, and collaborative learning.

This creates a diverse environment that strengthens individual strengths and promotes cooperation.
